2. Legal status
Each competition is a free-to-enter skill-based prize competition operated under the lawful exemption in section 339 of the Gambling Act 2005. They are not a lottery, gambling product or game of chance.
3. Eligibility
- You must be 18 or over and resident in the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man or Republic of Ireland (unless stated otherwise on the competition page).
- You may only enter using one registered account in your own name.
- Employees, contractors and immediate family of the Promoter, and anyone professionally connected with administering a competition, may not enter.
4. How to enter
- Paid entry โ buy one or more tickets on the competition page, correctly answer the skill question, and complete payment.
- Free postal entry โ send a postcard following the instructions on our Postal Entry page. Free entries have the same chance of winning as paid entries.
5. Skill question
Every competition includes a question requiring genuine skill, knowledge or judgement. Entries with an incorrect answer are void, will not be entered into the draw, and are not eligible for a refund or replacement entry (save where the question is found to be defective).
6. Tickets, prices and limits
- Prices are in GBP and shown on the competition page.
- Each competition has a fixed maximum number of tickets and a per-customer limit displayed on the competition page.
- Adding tickets to your basket does not reserve them; they are only allocated when payment is complete.
- Ticket numbers are allocated at random immediately after payment is confirmed.
7. Closing date and draw
- Each competition closes on the date and time stated on the competition page, or earlier if all tickets sell out.
- The winner is drawn at random from all valid paid and free postal entries using a verifiable random method, normally on or shortly after the closing date.
- The draw may be live-streamed on our social channels. The decision of the Promoter is final.
- We reserve the right, at our absolute discretion, to extend a closing date, re-draw, or amend the prize where minimum ticket thresholds are not met.
8. Prizes
- The prize is as described on the competition page. Images are illustrative; actual specification may vary in minor respects.
- Where a cash alternative is offered the value is stated on the competition page. Otherwise the prize is non-exchangeable and non-transferable.
- Delivery is normally arranged within 30 days of the winner being verified, to a UK mainland address. Delivery to Highlands, islands, Northern Ireland, Ireland or Channel Islands may take longer.
- Risk in the prize passes on delivery. Insurance, tax, road-fund licence, fuel, registration and any ongoing running costs are the winner's responsibility.
9. Claiming the prize
We will contact the winner using their account details within 7 days of the draw. The winner must respond and provide proof of age and address within 14 days of first contact. If a winner cannot be contacted or fails to verify within these periods, we reserve the right to forfeit the prize and re-draw.
All prizes must be collected in person at Yannis Desserts, 87 Peartree Road, Derby, DE23 6QB on the day of the draw (or on a date agreed with us within 14 days). Travel to the collection location is the winner's responsibility. We do not arrange courier delivery or third-party collection for car or high-value prizes. If the winner is unable or unwilling to travel to Derby to collect the prize, they may forfeit the prize or elect the cash alternative (where one is offered).
10. Publicity
By entering you agree that, if you win, you must appear on camera during the live draw and any related publicity. This is mandatory so that viewers can see the winner collect their prize and confirm the legitimacy of the competition. If you are unwilling to be filmed you must not enter.
In addition, your first name, town and ticket number may be published on the Site and our social channels. This minimal publicity is a condition of the section 339 Gambling Act exemption.
11. Refunds and withdrawal
All ticket sales are final. See section 8 of our Terms & Conditions for the full refund / site-credit policy, and your statutory waiver of the right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
12. Fraud and disqualification
We reserve the right to disqualify entries, void tickets and forfeit prizes without refund where we reasonably believe an entrant has used multiple accounts, bots, scripts, stolen card details, chargebacks or any other unfair means.
13. Limitation of liability
See section 16 of our Terms & Conditions. Nothing in these rules limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law.
14. Governing law
These rules are governed by the laws of England and Wales and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales (save that consumers resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland may bring proceedings locally).
15. Complaints
